Michael Tavel Clarke is a professor of English at the University of Calgary. He studies and teaches US literature and co-edits a journal on international literature and issues of colonialism and globalization. He has lived in Calgary for 12 years and served as Board Secretary since August 2014. Michael is grateful for the opportunity to serve a synagogue that has been an invaluable source of community and ritual observance for his family since they immigrated to the city. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, running, tennis, squash, throwing frisbees to his dog, and shirking yardwork.
