Making Music at Temple B’nai Tikvah: Showing an Israel the Headlines Miss.
We at Temple B’nai Tikvah love bringing Israeli music to Calgary. Of course, the main reason we do this is we want these artists to be heard in Calgary. But we also see a different reason. We think it’s important to show another side of Israel, a side that’s often missed in the headlines, the politics, the religious struggles. And so we’ve tried to focus on that part of Israel, the culturally dynamic, artistically vibrant, musically rich and diverse side of Israel.
While we’re partnered with friends such as the Calgary Folk Fest, bringing SoCalled, and the Calgary Jewish Federation to host Matisyahu, we’ve mostly been focusing on bringing Israeli artists such as David Broza, The Idan Raichel Project and Hadag Nahash. The roster of talent we’ve brought is staggering…yet another reason to be part of Temple B’nai Tikvah.
The galleries below spotlight some of the concerts that we have hosted.
