ELLEN NOVEMBER
Fiber Artist and Author
Wednesday, September 18
Ellen November creates photographic portraits in fabric that are snapshots in time and place. Enchanted by location and memory, she interweaves the special feeling of place with the roads, the landmarks and the floorplans that create a collage of texture and colour. The finished work invites the viewer to experience the impact of an area or idea through the lens of fine design and detailed execution.
Steve Marcus
Illustrator and Pop Culture Innovator
January 31
Steve seamlessly weaves his childhood memories of bagels and pickles from the barrel, along with his journey and passion for his roots and culture. He is the ultimate art explorer, diving into music, memories, and kosher creations, both as a printmaker, a sculptor, and a surface designer. “The artwork is not just a creative declaration of my own identity and beliefs, but also created to inspire all people to celebrate and explore their own true identities”

Hillel Smith
Graphic Designer and Street Artist
October 18, 2023
Hillel Smith captures joy in line and colour in works ranging from large-scale to three-dimensional objects. His design solutions are both whimsical and wise. Concentrating on making “cutting-edge Judaica”, his art mixes ancient Jewish texts and Jewish ritual practices with modern media and aesthetics. His approach is to reimagine what Judaica and Jewish art looks like in the 21st century.

View short previrew
Laurie responds to the turmoil of our world through inspiration found in various poetic text sources, including Jewish, Christian and Muslim. She reflects the oldest traditions of narrative textiles but in a thoroughly contemporary idiom. Through her iconography and collage, texture and calligraphy communicate a message of hope in each piece. Integrating materials with fibre and pattern, she boldly “unweaves” the fabric to reveal the beginnings of new visually stunning and spiritually uplifting artwork.
