BEE’nai Tikvah Project
Help us bring the Macca”bees” to Temple B’nai Tikvah. Bee populations are declining, yet we need them for pollination – to make flowers, food and delicious honey. Bringing bees to Temple B’nai Tikvah is tikkun olam – repairing the world. Click on this link to find out how you can make 5785 a honey of a year at TBT.

The Joy of Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids
Join our volunteers in making well over 200 lunches each week for Calgary students. Once a month or twice a month or once a week. Your choice. 2 hours in the morning on Monday or Wednesday. If you would like to be part of the JOY, please contact Cathy Tait or Mona Bell. It is a Mitzvah!
Join The Sandwich Brigade
Did you know that the Drop-In Centre hands out 600 sandwiches a day? In trying to help the homeless while bringing Temple members together, we are embarking upon an endeavour to provide some of the aforementioned sandwiches. They would be made at Temple, one evening a month. Bring yourself, bring your team, and come for a couple of hours of sandwich schmoozing. We’re excited about the project and will move forward with more details once we know how many of you will be joining us. If you’re interested, please contact Brenda Zugman.
Wynne’s Pantry (Miriam’s Well)
Did you know that there are Tzedakah boxes in the foyer outside of the sanctuary? Miriam’s Well is an important Jewish Community program that serves clients from JFSC as well as the broader community. PLEASE consider bringing a food item for the box when you come to Temple, whether it be for services or any other purpose.
Temple Garden Box
Our Temple garden box, located on the west side of the building, is hopeful that her needs will be tended to this summer. She had a bountiful harvest last year which was gratefully received by Jewish Family Services. She brightens our lawn, although she could also use a facelift in the way of a refinishing if someone is so inclined. Mostly, she will need planting and watering. No experience necessary. If you think that you can help, please contact Susan Light or phone 403.861.9881.
Calgary Interfaith Council
One of the invitations common to world religions is to welcome the stranger and love our neighbour. The Calgary Interfaith Council is exploring this theme over the next year from the richness of our diverse faith traditions and with the shared reality of living in particular neighbourhoods in Calgary.
