Statement on Transgender Youth

Shortly after Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced her intention to make sweeping changes to our province’s policies regarding transgender youth, Rabbi Mark Glickman publicly reassured our congregation that Temple B’nai Tikvah remains a supportive and safe, welcoming space for the LGBTQ2S+ community.

Subsequently, the Reform Jewish Community of Canada (RJCC) issued a statement reaffirming its support for transgender rights and called on all levels of government to preserve these rights.

The Temple B’nai Tikvah Board of Trustees has voted to approve and support the statement issued by the RJCC. We urge our congregants to read the statement and to contact their MLA if they feel strongly about this issue.
